This is the event that we all look forward too and it’s our opportunity to bring everybody in the company together along with partners and kids, the OG Conference! This year we travelled to the Top End and landed in Darwin for 3 days of learning, socialising and relaxing.
We were extremely lucky to have 3 guest speakers, Mike Sandy, Peter Mikula and Kobus du Plooy, join us for the entire conference and share insights & experiences from their careers. Our theme this year was “learning from the past” and what better way than to have 3 highly experienced industry professionals share their knowledge.
Some of our team also had the opportunity to present to the group on any topic they chose and it was amazing to see the discussion this generated over the days together. On the final day, we facilitated a Q&A session with our guru guest speakers which gave everybody the chance to ask those burning geotech questions we all have.
While the team was busy in the conference, many of the partners and families explored Darwin together with a visit to Crocosaurus Cove high on the kids agenda. Throw in the parks, playgrounds and the wave park, and Darwin provided lots of family entertainment.
The evenings were filled with relaxed group dinners for our team and their families around the Darwin’s beautiful Waterfront precinct.
We finished off with a wonderful family afternoon at Crocodylus Park learning about crocodiles, reptile handling, a croc feeding cruise and leisurely walk through the animal park. It was a great way to finish the conference by taking time to step away from work, relax and enjoy each others company.
Given our staff are spread over 5 states, bringing this event together is a significant logistically feat and can’t be done with out our superb support staff, Naomi, Demi & Diane and Refine Events Director, Lauren Williams. A massive thank you for helping to create another amazing conference!
