OG’s Manager: East Operations, Mairi Ferguson, presented recently at the 10th annual AusIMM’s North West Queensland Branch Regional Mining Symposium. Attended by more than 100 mining professionals, the Symposium bought together a diverse cross-section of the businesses operating and supporting mines in North West Queensland. OG are proud sponsors of this event.
Mairi shared her extensive knowledge in seismic risk management from a geotechnical perspective, presenting several case studies on the application of de-stress blasting methods to manage high stress rockmass conditions for both development and production scenarios. Mairi gained this knowledge whilst working onsite at several of WA’s highly seismic underground mines. In recognition of her engaging and informative presentation she was awarded the ‘People’s Choice’ award – congrats Mairi!
